Season eight of Game of Thrones is coming out this year on April 14 and people are ready. A lot of theories about the show surfaced when HBO released a commercial about new seasons and new shows that were coming out in 2019, which featured around a seven second part of the last season of Game of Thrones. With just seven seconds, a bunch of people started posting about where the characters stood, the body language, the way they talked and how it all tied together.

“I’m expecting that while the white walkers are going to invade Westeros, Daenerys and her forces will fight against them, all while Cersei is planning to attack Daenerys from King’s Landing to keep her claim on Iron Throne,” says Sophomore Audrey Schroeder.

There have been lots of speculations that the ending of The Game of Thrones will be  ‘bittersweet’ since 2015 due to what the author of the book series, George R.R. Martin, said in an interview. Although he was talking about the book series, ‘A Song of Ice and Fire,’ many people think it could also be true for the TV show.

“People ask me how Game of Thrones is going end, and I’m not going to tell them. But I always say to expect something bittersweet in the end. You can’t just fulfill a quest and then pretend life is perfect,” according to an interview Martin did on website buzz.ie.

No one can really say how the show might end. Martin and the producers have been unpredictable since the start of the show in 2011. The ‘bittersweet’ ending is very believable due to how none of the characters in the show are totally ‘safe.’

“I honestly think the White walkers are going to win. Why wouldn’t they? They have a dragon and an endless army. All the humans have is manipulation and a throne,” says sophomore Eric Alvan.
