About The Rider Chronicle

I. Audience

The primary audience for The Rider Chronicle is the student body, parents, and faculty affiliated with S.H. Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas.

II. Who We Are

The Rider Chronicle is produced by the Rider High School media team. Content is completely student generated through the efforts and decisions of the editorial staff. The publications are designed and intended to both serve both S.H. Rider High School and the city of Wichita Falls.
Through its practice and first amendment mission, our publication constitutes a forum for writers, columnists, Rider Chronicle members, faculty members, and community members.

III. Purpose

The intent of The Rider Chronicle is to educate, inform, entertain, and present issues in a professional manner. Our Staff strives to only publish accurately researched stories, thoroughly written articles, features, opinion pieces, public-interest pieces, video projects, and podcasts for the student body of Rider High School and local community members.

IV. Finances

Rider Media pays for printing of written publications, equipment for all publications, and the services required for online publishing, entirely through advertising, fund-raising projects, and subscriptions. Currently, because our online publication is a new venture, advertisers who publish in The Rider Chronicle automatically qualify for an ad on TheRiderChronicle.com.** For information about advertising in one of our publications, please ask a staff member or call our newsroom at (940) 235-1077 ext. 31061.

V.  Disclaimer

Material may not necessarily reflect the views, the opinions, or the concerns of the Rider High School faculty, administration, or the Wichita Falls Independent School District (WFISD) school board, but material will reflect the interests of the student body. The staff recognizes that the material is also read by WFISD faculty and administrators, as well as the community as a whole, and students from other high schools across the country. Consequently, material will not always involve school news, but it will be localized to student concerns.

VI. Question/Concerns

Rider Media recognizes and encourages criticism from all parties. The first order of business for anyone wishing to voice a concern is to write a letter to the editor of the publication that published the article in question. Emails for the respective editor may be found below. The next step for those with complaints or comments is to request a meeting with the editor of the publication, the editorial board, and the publication’s adviser. A meeting will be made with certainty within at least a week of the request being received.
