Based on a true story, The Blind Side is this year’s best inspirational movie, telling the heart-wrenching story of Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), a teenage boy struggling to survive on the streets after being forcefully removed from his home and bounced around from foster home to foster home. When the Tuhoys, a wealthy family led by Leigh Anne (Sandra Bullock) and Sean (Tim McGraw), see Michael walking in the cold in shorts and a t-shirt, Leigh Anne insists that Michael come stay the night in their home. After much turmoil and triumph Michael eventually receives a football scholarship to the school of his choice.
This movie will move its viewers to tears as it reveals the painful childhood Michael survived and the desperation and depravity that he arose from to become who he is today. Viewers are moved to laughter as SJ (Jae Head), the young Tuhoy boy with a large personality, brings comic relief with his ridiculously funny comments and hilariously mature stature.
The ultimate conflict is what college Michael will ultimately attend until an investigation goes on, threatening to tear his new family and life apart.
As Leigh Anne struggles to find Michael she realizes that he is a part of her. He is her family and there is no changing that.
