Following the release of Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War”, viewers of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) were left to anticipate the next movie in the series, “Avengers: Endgame”. The three-hour long movie was directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo. The movie had a budget of $356 million and has already reached over $2 billion in ticket sales since its release in April 2019.
The film includes a clash of almost every beloved superhero in the MCU. Characters from other films, such as “Black Panther” (2018), “Captain Marvel” (2019), “Guardians of the Galaxy” (2014), and many other movies appear together.
“Avengers: Endgame” certainly had a lot to include and many standards to be held up to. It was a box office hit, and for good reason. The release of the movie determined the end of an era filled with 10 years of filming over 20 movies. “Avengers: Endgame” contained many ‘easter eggs’ including Stan Lee’s last cameo, while also tying up loose ends from previous Marvel movies and going back through the relationships between the characters.
In “Avengers: Endgame”, Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, is still floating around in space with Nebula after Thanos’ world-changing snap. Meanwhile, the Avengers who didn’t disappear into dust are left on Earth to cope with the loss of half their population for the next five years.
The three-hour long film had many special effects, quotes, and many more that made it stand out. The movie’s budget certainly went to as many things as it could. The special effects were just amazing, perhaps the best in screening history, rivaling ‘Game of Thrones’ episode that aired that same weekend “Avengers: Endgame” was released. The makeup team in the movie worked as hard as the rest of the team, spending hours on characters makeup, from regular looks to alien prosthetics.
As amazing as the special effects were, the way the cast interacted with each other was absolutely incredible. Their reactions seemed so genuine and it felt like they were speaking to the viewers. The quotes in the movie ranged from hilarious to sad, each actor and actress delivering it like it was the most important line in the movie. When actors are three thousand percent invested in their roles, so are we.
Despite the obnoxious popcorn chewing, neck scratching and loud person sitting next to me, my experience from watching “Avengers: Endgame” was honestly amazing. The movie itself left me on the edge of my seat, anticipating each of the characters’ next move. I went into the movie expecting to be wowed and it did not disappoint. Everyone in the theater was in it together, and I’m sure no one left disappointed.
“Avengers: Endgame” was definitely a tear-jerker, but it was also hilarious and action-packed. You could say that it was very well balanced. The reactions of everyone in the theater made the movie even more enjoyable. “Avengers: Endgame” is definitely a movie I’d see in theaters again.
