Hello Raiders! We are here to introduce you to the new advice column. Write a question on a piece of notebook paper and drop it in one of the advice boxes. These are located in the ROHO Depot (black and gold box) and the counselor’s office (pink Hawaiian box). We will be checking these weekly and posting your question and our answers on the website

Make sure to stop by!!!

EXAMPLE A:

Question: Are we going to have the same advisory period all year? –Curly Dude

Answer: Not necessarily, if a student is failing after the first six weeks then they could report to the teacher whose class they are failing for further instruction.

EXAMPLE B:

Question: Why can’t guys wear earrings? –Ear Full

Answer: To some people it is a distraction in the classroom. To some it may not be, but everyone must obey school rules.

EXAMPLE C:

Question: What’s so bad about showing affection in the hallways? –Silent Kisser

Answer: Well, affection really isn’t the problem; it’s about the domino effect. Holding hands leads to hugging, hugging leads to kissing and kissing leads to things that people just don’t want to see.

Example D

Question: When did it become okay to call your peers derogatory names? –Emotionally Hurt

Answer: It has just become more accepted in today’s society. Slang terms have become more common. However it just depends on the group of people you are with on whether or not it is degrading towards them.

How to stop it: Do not be afraid to speak up. If you feel insulted say so. If not, then it’s just not worth the fight.
