Tonight the Rider varsity football team will be revealing their new helmets during the 7 p.m game against Amarillo High at Memorial Stadium.

The team is coming off of a win last week.

“Last year’s team left a lot of adversity for the seniors this year as far as the success that we are expected to have every year,” coach Ben Nielsen said.

The players feel like they have something to show after all the local news reporters picked Abilene to win the game. Rider still managed to succeed with the winning score of 21 to 7.

Players say the new helmets are giving them their momentum for this week.

Junior TJ Vasher said he thinks that the helmets are “going to put more excitement into the game” and the crowd will be eager to see them tonight.

Tickets can be purchased in Mrs. Albin’s office for $3 until 1 p.m today or at the gate for $8.
